Hi everyone! I’m Andrea, owner of Walker & Roots, a holistic hair salon in Troy, Michigan.

Walker & Roots is a health-conscious salon created for people who are mindful of the products and chemicals they are exposed to and who want a more conscious approach to their hair care.

I’ve been a hairstylist for 20 years, and I’ve been connected to the Medical Medium® community for about 10 years. This way of living has had a meaningful impact on my life and played a big part in inspiring me to create Walker & Roots.

As a hairstylist who experienced chemical sensitivity firsthand, there was a point when I seriously considered leaving the career I loved. After years of being exposed to strong fumes and hair chemicals behind the chair, I knew I needed to find a different way to continue doing what I loved without compromising my own wellbeing.

Instead of walking away from hairstyling, I created Walker & Roots—a salon centered around cleaner, more conscious products and a healthier salon environment.

I use O&M hair color and OWAY products, and I'm intentional about reducing unnecessary chemical exposure wherever possible. I created a space where people who are health-conscious, sensitive to chemicals, or simply on their own wellness journey can feel more comfortable while getting their hair done.
